lori

Lori Ihle – Principal (TPS since 2024)

I began my teaching career in Ohio, teaching first through third grades over fourteen years. When I relocated to Indiana, I stepped into the role of second grade teacher at CSA Lincoln, a project-based school in Bartholomew County. I then moved into the position of Instructional Coach for Indianapolis Public Schools. For MCCSC, I taught sixth grade at University Elementary, and then transitioned into the role of Instructional Coach. Most recently, before coming to The Project School, I was the MCCSC District Instructional Coach. I bring all of these experiences with me as I now work to ensure your child’s academic and social-emotional learning successes.

I have two adult daughters: Katherine is a financial analyst, and Whitnee is studying to become a nutritionist. My husband and I met and blended our families together a decade ago, so that I gained two more fabulous kids: Rowyn is studying to become a dentist, and Finnigan attends high school in Brown County. My husband is a master woodworker and we love to work on projects together. I enjoy traveling around and camping in our travel trailer with our two dogs, Etta and Thor. When I’m at home, I love to read books, try out new recipes using produce from my garden, and bake homemade bread.

When Amy is not at TPS, she loves studying Yiddish, singing in a Klezmer band, and snuggling with her wonder pup, Elphie. Amy has two children – a daughter, Joelle, who is a Fulbright graduate student in Dublin, Ireland, and a son, Eli, who is a junior at Bloomington High School North. Amy is so grateful that both her kids got to experience the magic of TPS for elementary and middle school.
